But unfortunately to achieve this goal is not an easy thing because many factors affect the production of dairy cow's milk itself. Such as cleanliness, quality of feed and water as well as care, all of which greatly affect the production of milk produced.

Therefore, to help you dairy farmers increase their livestock production, here we present 5 tips or ways to make dairy cows produce a lot of milk:

How to increase cow's milk production so that milk production is abundant and of high quality?

1. Ensure that forage and concentrate needs are met

The main requirement for a cow to produce a lot of milk is that the cow must be healthy. To keep cows healthy, the main capital is to meet their basic needs.

Provide feed in sufficient quantities and good quality in terms of feed conditions and nutritional balance. In this regard, forage feed plays a very dominant role in meeting the energy needs of dairy cows for production. Provision of forage in the form of corn silage is quite effective in boosting very high milk productivity.

And to optimize production, a feed booster called concentrate is needed. The combination of forage and concentrate feed is proven to support growth development and can produce milk of good quality and quantity.

2. Ensure the availability of drinking water

Water is an important nutrient that cannot be left out. Farm animals need a supply of clean water for normal digestion and metabolism.

In addition, 85% of the constituents of milk are water, even a dairy cow's need for water can reach 100 liters a day. Therefore, provide adequate drinking water. Instead, separate the drinking water tub with the feeding tub. The drinking tub must be filled with water at all times.

3. Keep cows from stress & give special treatment

The next way so that dairy cows can produce a lot of milk is to keep cows from stress. Therefore, you must provide special care that 'pleases the cow'.

For example in the case of housing. The cage is a home for cows to produce. So make sure the dairy cow pen is in a safe area and away from densely populated areas. This will prevent the cow from stress triggered by noise that can disturb her comfort, especially when the cow is producing milk.

In addition, in the morning and evening before milking, massage for 2-5 minutes on the cow's udder with warm water. This massage process is able to trigger an increase in milk production by as much as 25 percent. Meanwhile, several years ago, research at a university in England tested whether playing music would have an impact on breast milk production. And it turns out that cows like classical music. As a result, cow's milk production increased by 3%.

4. Also give additional feed/supplements

In addition to meeting the needs of forage, concentrate, and water consumption, it is also a good idea to provide additional feed (premix) in the feed formulation as a dairy cow supplement to increase milk production.

Supplements consisting of additives such as vitamins and minerals are useful for maintaining metabolic balance, increasing the endurance of livestock so they are not easily sick. As well as improving the quality of feed which makes absorption of nutrients higher and helps better production.
